Hanieh Sadat has launched ImpactX, a sustainability tech fund, dedicated to solving sustainability challenges through an innovative ecosystem of entrepreneurship, education and innovative uses of risk capital. ImpactX, a global innovation ecosystem consisting of a network of innovation labs focused on sustainable development goals (SDGs) and supported by philanthropic “catalytic” capital, for entrepreneurs, emerging tech companies, students, corporate partners, scientists and policymakers to generate and scale business and tech solutions to sustainability challenges.

ImpactX is focusing on how to build an effective sustainability ecosystem and the creation of technology is a main tool in how to meet their SDGs. They are focused on the riskiest end of the innovation continuum, which has been neglected by consistent financial and operational support, in order to get as many ideas out of the lab and into the market.

ImpactX’s innovative funding model, catalytic capital, provides enterprises with financing on concessionary terms, in order to generate impact and enable third party investment, which would not otherwise be possible. The model bridges the funding gap between the terms required to facilitate investment that contribute to achieving SDGs and the terms available from convention market-rate investors.

They are focused on the riskiest end of the innovation continuum, which has been neglected by consistent financial and operational support, in order to get as many ideas out of the lab and into the market.

The goal is to: establish a global sustainability tech innovation ecosystem with innovation financing model; educate and train the next generation of business leaders in sustainability; build valuable businesses, while creating jobs, careers, and generating an economic return to attract outside capital; retain talent and reward positive risk-taking, and solve problems that get them closer to reaching the SDGs.
